The Morandi Bridge collapse is a tragedy that has affected Genoa and Italy as a whole deeply; the city has been largely cut in half by the loss of this key artery. Genoa has always been the home of Costa Cruises and our company is an integral part of the social and economic fabric of this major port city.
In this context it’s important to act at once, everyone together, in order to make a tangible contribution so as to help overcome this emergency and build a better future for Genoa.
Among the various forms of response to the disaster currently being discussed with the city’s authorities, we have decided to set up our own fundraising project with a campaign directed at our guests on board. We will be donating 1 euro for each plate of Trofie al Pesto – Ligurian potato-flour dumplings served with the iconic Genoese sauce – served on all the ships in our fleet. In addition, each guest can choose to make their own voluntary contribution. All donations will be collected and processed with the support of Costa Crociere Foundation. The funds raised will be used to finance a project chosen in agreement with the Municipality of Genova and the Ligurian Regional Administration.
Updates on the progress of the project will be posted on our website and on www.costa-crociere-foundation.com
With everyone’s help, Genoa will bounce back stronger than ever.
