osta receives the Responsible Tourism Award for the Transports, products and tourism services by the InterMundial Foundation.
On Thursday the 24th of January, the InterMundial Seguros Foundation presented the Responsible Tourism Awards together with the International Tourism Fair, the World Tourism Organization and the Hotel Technological Institute. The four winners in the second edition have been selected among more than 70 nominees from seven countries.
During the award ceremony, Manuel López, organizer of the InterMundial Seguros Foundation, highlighted the need to put value on responsible practices that allow a sustainable tourism system over time.
The Responsible Tourism Award for the Transports, products and tourism services category was awarded to Costa for the 4GOODFOOD programme, on the fight against food waste.
During 2018, 4GOODFOOD attracted great interest and received important international awards, linked to its uniqueness and innovative character not only in the maritime industry, yet at a global level too. The positive impacts already detected and measurable have been the focus of attention, as well as the potential scalability of the program. In this context, Costa was invited to participate in the International Day for the Elimination of Poverty at the European Parliament, to illustrate its programme. In 2018, 4GOODFOOD also received the CSR Seatrade Award and Best Italian Client Award, and contributed to winning the WTM World Travel Leaders Award.
