The "ICO Solutions" (Islands Coasts Oceans - Îles Côtes Océans) event was held on 8 September 2021 in Marseille to discuss the most important themes regarding the protection of islands, coasts and oceans, alongside the World Congress of the International Union for Conservation of Nature (IUCN).

The meeting organised by the Rhone Mediterranean Corsica Water Agency, the Metropolitan Chamber of Commerce and Industry of Aix-Marseille-Provence (CCI AMP) and the Conservatoire du Littoral saw the participation of Davide Triacca, Sustainability Director, together with other cruise industry representatives, to publicise and promote our company's commitment to initiatives that support the biodiversity and conservation of marine areas.

More specifically, the Costa Crociere Foundation's "Guardiani della Costa" project was presented: a nationwide initiative involving environmental and citizen education created in collaboration with the School of Robotics, the Ligurian Marine Observatory for Fishing and the Environment (OLPA) and the ENEA Marine Environment Research Centre Santa Teresa as scientific partners, as well as Key Technologies and CivicaMente (an Italian association involved in developing digital educational programmes) as technical partners. The aim was to assess the possibility of extending this initiative to the Mediterranean, and so along the French coastline too.

Taking part in this event provided another chance to discuss and exchange ideas with the local communities of the destinations we call at, thereby adding value to our goal of getting the various stakeholders more involved.
