Yorkeys Knob

Queensland is like a huge fin reaching out to Papua New Guinea. On its north-eastern side, where the sea dominates, there is Yorkeys Knob.

We are in one of the regions favoured by international tourists, and it's easy to see why: in front of the promenade, hot spots of surfers from all over the world, lies the great barrier reef with its wonders: sharks, fish, turtles, shellfish.

Not to be missed:

- Great Barrier Reef Marine Park

- Atherton Tableland, a fertile plain that rises up to 1,280 metres above sea level.

- Skyrail Rainforest, the cableway suspended over the rainforest.
