Riga, the capital of Lithuania, is the largest city of the Baltic States and owes its success to the Hanseatic League of which it was a member in mediaeval times.

We will dock at the port of Riga during our Costa North Sea cruise. During this stop, you will discover its enchanting atmosphere, the reason why it was named the 'Pearl of the Baltic'. The city of Riga has also been considered a World Heritage Site both for its old centre and for the large concentration of Art Nouveau buildings. An important industrial and economic centre of the region, Riga has a fascinating cultural heritage. The old town was recognised as a UNESCO World Heritage site in 1997. Don't miss the chance to stroll down the cobblestone streets of the historic city centre to discover the beautiful Art Nouveau buildings and visit the many other museums and monuments in the Latvian capital.
