Description

You will leave the ship for a cruise of halong bay. From the ship's anchorage position, you will board a boat for an unforgettable cruise, sailing past many breathtaking islets in this corner of paradise. A folktale tells that dragons descended from heaven to help the local people to defend themselves from invaders by spitting jewels and jade into the sea, forming a natural fortress: these precious stones are represented by the lush green islands. Several islands have beautiful grottoes and caves with adjoining chambers, hidden pools and strange rock formations. Following the cruise you can take panorama tour for exploration. You will then return to your coach to drive to a local restaurant for a typical Vietnamese lunch. According to the local people, bai chay got its name from a distant historical event. bai chay was once a forest, but in 1287 the mongols, led by the great general known here as truong van ho, attacked vietnam and were driven back by general tran khanh du. many mongolian ships were set afire and drifted ashore, aided by strong winds, setting the forest alight. Ever since this stretch of coast has been known as bai chay, meaning 'scorched beach'. After lunch, you will visit the royal amusement park at Bai Chay beach. It covers an area of 10 hectares with a 1.5-kilometre stretch of coast. Here you will be able to relax and enjoy the highlights of the park, which include a water puppet show and a traditional cultural show. Your last stop will be shopping time at Hon Gai open air market where you can find so many kinds of souvenirs from ha long. Finally you will return to the ship.
