We set off to discover the most famous Mayan ruins in the world: Chichén Itzá is one of the seven wonders of the modern world! We are stunned by the magnificence of this site and we are engrossed by Mayan culture thanks to our local guide. At the end of the visit we have plenty of time to explore the monuments at our leisure.

What we will see
  • Playa del Carmen
  • Chichén Itzá
  • Pyramid of Kukulcan
  • Temple of the Warriors
  • Basket lunch

What we will do
  • From the pier in Cozumel we take the ferry to Playa del Carmen, on the Yucatán coast, in the heart of the famous Riviera Maya.
  • Here an air-conditioned coach awaits us to take us to our destination: the unique archaeological site of Chichén Itzá.
  • Once we arrive at our destination, accompanied by our local guide, we visit some of the most famous buildings of this site which covers an area of 3 km² and which was declared a UNESCO World Heritage Site.
  • The ruins were once part of a large city that was one of the most important centres in the region. Several buildings are still standing today. During the visit, we view the most famous and best preserved of the Mexican pre-Columbian step pyramids: the pyramid of Kukulcan, the feathered serpent god.
  • Among the most important buildings on the site, the Temple of the Warriors stands out; a stunning construction built on a stepped platform, surrounded by wide porticoes and a forest of columns.
  • Once the guided tour of this imposing ceremonial centre is over, we have some free time to wander around the site at our leisure, take some unforgettable photos and explore the buildings which arouse our curiosity.
  • On our way back, while we savour the wonderful memories of this memorable excursion, we are served with a basket lunch.
