What we will do

We meet our guides and, after an introduction on health and safety, we get on our awesome electric hummers ready to discover the island’s beauty spots.

We drive in convoy and reach our first stop, the former US Air Force Base where astronaut John Glenn was interviewed in 1962 after his eventful landing his spaceship just off the island.

We then stop for photos in front of the reproduction of John Glenn’s spaceship commemorating his famous endeavour and a must stop on the island.

We then move on to the Salt Cay Town salinas where various bird species stop over to look for food. Our guides provide us with interesting information on Grand Turk’s salt industry and on the production techniques used in bygone eras.

We head to the western coast of the island and admire some amazing 17th and 19th-century colonial buildings near a white beach lapped by turquoise waters.

We stop to see the old jetty protruding towards the dramatic plunge down into the coral reef that reaches a depth of 2000 metres. We walk along the road flanked by small restaurants serving local cuisine and craft shops where we can purchase hand-made souvenirs. * Once back on our vehicles, we head north to reach the Circle of Life where we have the opportunity to see and touch exotic marine creatures such as starfish, sea urchins, conches, sea centipedes, turtles, shells and much more. We admire the lighthouse as well as grazing horses and donkeys from afar.

We then move on to Breezy Brae from where we can see the islands making up the Turks and Caicos archipelago: we remain enchanted by the immense panoramic views and admire the majestic beauty of Grand Turk.

We turn our vehicles around and head back south to the port.
