  • Sightseeing tour of the coast
  • La Churcha
  • Sanchez
  • Guided stroll in the city centre
  • Free time for folklore and shopping

What we will do
  • We leave the port by coach accompanied by our guide who will point out the main sights along the way and embark on a sightseeing tour of the western coast of Samaná, capital city of the province.
  • We stop off first at La Churcha for a visit from the outside and to take a few pictures. The church dates back to 1860 and truly deserves a visit due to its extraordinary history: it was originally built in England but was taken apart piece by piece and rebuilt in Samaná.
  • We then continue on to the Sanchez, one of the main centres of economic, political and social development in the country during the early 20th century.
  • The town started growing in 1884 when the railway connecting Sanchez inland started attracting a few important investors and some rich Dominican families built spectacular Victorian homes here.
  • We enjoy a stroll through the centre and let ourselves be enchanted by the unique contrast between amazing historic homes and picturesque wooden houses.
  • After our walk, we have some free time to enjoy local folk dances and wander around the crafts market before heading back to the port.
