Estonia, which we visit on our cruise in the Baltic Sea, is almost entirely covered by woods and forests, and is a perfect balance between the legacy of Soviet domination and the Nordic cultural vocation.
Among the beauties of the country there is definitely the natural landscape, largely preserved in parks and nature reserves including Lahemaa National Park, one of the oldest of the former Soviet Union. Arriving in Estonia from the sea with a Costa Cruise has the advantage of giving a magnificent view of the particular shape of the coastline, rugged and dotted with a thousand islands. But the very soul of the country resides in its cities. During our trip to visit Estonia we visit Tallin, the capital where the old town (UNESCO World Heritage) contrasts with Soviet-style neighbourhoods and areas of towering modern skyscrapers.
