Cambodia is a fairly vast kingdom on the Southeast Asian peninsula, overlooking the Gulf of Siam, where we arrive on our cruise. Here we meet ancient traditions, art and culture.
The Angkor archaeological site which, between the 9th and 15th centuries, was the site of the Khmer capital, is truly spectacular. There are about eighty main buildings in addition to hundreds of Hindu and Buddhist temples scattered across the area. The most famous temple is the famous Angkor Wat, considered the largest religious building in the world, which we find stylised in the Cambodian flag. During our cruise to Cambodia what makes the greatest impression are the imperceptible khmer dance movements, taken from the sacred poem Ramayana and performed with great skill by elegant dancers. The religious aura that hangs over everything makes this stop an interesting journey through the deep spirituality of a very ancient people.
