Position Paper for the Circular Economy prepared for the Italian Alliance for the Circular Economy and Accenture, and presented on Wednesday, November 7, in Rimini at Ecomondo, the leading expo for the green and circular economy in the Euro-Mediterranean area. On the back of its ongoing and concrete commitment to integrating innovation and sustainability into its strategies and processes, Costa sets out here its business model designed to bring about sustainable development and the creation of value. The separate collection of waste streams on board the ships – with categorization of all waste and collection of any materials that can be sent to shoreside facilities for recycling – and the 4GOODFOOD program, whose objective is to halve food waste by 2020, are tangible examples of the effectiveness of that model.
