'BAROQUE ROME': Excursion in Civitavecchia

We will leave the port of Civitavecchia by bus and travel along the highway until we reach Rome where, after having met our guide we will begin the panoramic visit allowing us to admire the Roma dei Cesari quali Piramide Cestia, Porta San Paolo, Mura Aureliane, Terme di Caracalla, Circo Massimo , Arco di Costantino e Colosseo Our walk will take us on a discovery of Baroque Rome: The Spanish Square, The Trevi Fountain, Column Plaza, Montecitorio Plaza, The Pantheon ending with Navona Plaza and the marvelous Fountain of the Four Rivers, work of Bernini. After lunch we will continue our visit to St Peters square and the splendid colonnade and its Egyptian Obelisk. We will have an inside visit of St Peters Basilica, overhung by the gigantic Dome of Michelangelo inside which is the bronze Canopy of Bernini before returning to the port of Civitavecchia.

Please note: The journey to Rome takes approximately 1 ½ hours and the guide will meet you in Rome. This excursion takes place almost entirely on foot. Comfortable walking shoes are recommended. Please wear appropriate clothing (no shorts or tank tops) during the visits to holy places. This excursion is only available to guests that do not end their cruise in Civitavecchia. Monuments, palaces and churches may be closed due to local reasons without previous warning. In this case, the visits will take place from outside. This excursion is not recommended for people with walking difficulties. Space is limited, so please book early.
