For its special recruitment source of recent graduates and school leavers, the Costa Group uses unsolicited applications, lists supplied by the main Italian and international universities, advertisements in the press and on the Internet. With a view to greater integration between the world of school and work, Costa has special relations with some Master courses and institutes of high education, from where it regularly picks candidates for work placements.

The selection process begins with a careful organizational analysis that is divided into three main phases:
- individual interview with Human Resources Department;
- selection tests;
- interview with managers of the concerned departments.
The aim of this process is to identify people who, according to the their personal and professional qualities, have requirements corresponding to the position they will occupy and to the expectations of the company as a whole.

  • ADULT ANIMATOR (A_AN_CW)
    Reports directly to the Chief Adult Animator, works individually and as part of a team in order to entertain and socialize with guests at all times throughout the cruise. He/she has to develop the animation and entertainment programme and prepare and keep in order the materials for Animation dept.
    Candidate must have:
    Good knowledge of two foreign languages at least (English/French/German/Spanish/Italian)
    Good skills in interaction with guests
    Good sport's and artistic skills
    Good presence without excessive marks
    Creative skills
    Good team-player
    Good presence and health

  • CHILDREN/TEEN ANIMATOR (C_AN_CW)
    Reports directly to the Chief Children Animator, works individually and as part of a team in order to entertain and socialize with young guests at all times throughout the cruise. He/she has to develop the children/teens entertainment programme and prepare and keep in order the materials in the Children/Teens club. Candidate must have:
    - Good knowledge of two foreign languages at least (English/French/German/Spanish/Italian)
    - Good skills in interaction with guests (children and teens)
    - Good sport's and artistic skills

    Reports directly to the Chief Adult Animator, is a member of the adult animation team with specific sport skills. He/she has to develop the sports, animation and entertainment program and supervise the sports activities in the sports area.
    Candidate must have:
    - Age between 20 and 30 years

  • EXECUTIVE CHEF (EC_CW)
    To be accountable for both operational duties and qualitative controls concerning the total Food Production on board a ship; he/she is responsible for the correct implementation of company procedures while ensuring that our international clientele is experiencing culinary delights in all of our Food outlets. Leading a multi ethnical team, he/she is in charge of training and actively taking part in the technical development of the Kitchen brigade.
    He/she will have:
    - 2/3 years work experience as an Executive Chef in an International Company preferably with some ship’s experience. World Cuisine knowledge combined with advanced USPH certificates
    - Hotel/Tourism school or University
    - Some computer skills and fluent English (other European languages are a plus)
    - Good organisation skills, interpersonal skills and personal attributes of problem solving
    Strong motivation and team player skills are also necessary.

    Directly responding to the Executive Chef, responsibilities include administrative tasks of some sections of the Kitchen brigade on board a ship. He/she is responsible of the daily production of menus that are prepared according to the highest international quality standards. He/she ensures good working relations amongst a multi ethnical team.
    He/she will have:
    - 2/3 years work experience in a similar position in hotel or on board. A vast food knowledge together with an USPH certificate
    - University degree and/or graduate of Hotel/Tourism School
    - Good computer skills, fluency in English (other European languages are a plus)
    - Good interpersonal, communication and organisational skills and personal attributes of analytical thinking and problem solving

He/she is responsible of the daily production of the specific section and ensures highest international quality standards.     He/she will have:
    - 2/3 years work experience in a similar position in hotel or on board. Good food knowledge is a must, a USPH certificate is appreciated as well as experience in large scale preparation
    - Graduate of Hotel/Tourism School
    - Good computer skills, fluency in English (other European languages are a plus)
    - Good interpersonal, communication and organisational skills and personal attributes of flexibility and willingness to integrate
